Every July, Salinas transforms into the Western capital of California for one of the most celebrated rodeos in the country. Known locally as "Big Week," this 100-year-old tradition draws families, rodeo fans, and visitors from across the nation for four days of bull riding, live entertainment, a carnival, and some of the best Western culture California has to offer.
What makes this event truly special is the community it brings together. Deep roots in the region's Hispanic and Latino heritage make it a multigenerational celebration unlike any other, where grandparents and grandchildren share the same bleachers and ranching traditions are honored alongside world-class competition.
